Singapore Biennale 2008 is very good

Have you been to the Singapore Biennale 2008 yet? If not, you should. It's an art exhibition that's held in various places in city area.

Today, I was at City Hall. For two hours, I felt as if I wasn't in Singapore. That's a big deal. It's like going on a holiday, being at some place else.

The ticket cost $10 and provides entrance to City Hall, South Bridge Development and Singapore Flyer (without the ride).

Here are some photos from the exhibition.

On the floor of the hall is a satellite image of Singapore. Pasted all over it are small pieces of paper with stuff written over it.

There are many primary school children on outings.

  1. I love the atmosphere in these kind of shows. The slugs on the red carpet are great!

  2. Have to disagree that it is good pleasurable yes, but no where near good

Looking through the guide you get after paying for the ticket and refer to the art pieces, its quite obvious the Biennale organizers did not do a good job when displaying the works. The feeling and emotion the artist were trying to bring across was bounded by the environment the works were displayed in.

  3. peacerobo - City Hall was still quite all right. The venue at South Bridge Development was really worn down.

  4. Personally i found the floating book display felt very different from what the artist actually stated. Due to the environment, it was displayed in.

Overall they did a good job with a good variety of works but still there's more room for important (At least they did a better job this year compared to the previous one 2006 i believe)
